The starting point: three disconnected records
Work on Savdochi began in 2024 in a family shop where daily sales lived in a paper notebook, stock quantities in Excel, and customer debts in phone notes. Reconciling those three sources took hours of manual effort.
Our first priority was connecting checkout, stock deduction, and debt tracking into a single atomic workflow.
Designing for distinct staff roles
Real-world use quickly showed that cashiers need rapid barcode scanning and keyboard-friendly desktop checkout, while owners need clear browser access to revenue, expenses, and approvals.
That insight led to Savdochi’s unified backend serving both a Next.js web application and a Tauri desktop workstation app.
